What are the pros and cons of the different types of Aquarium filters available for a 30 gallon aquarium?
I need to upgrade my filter to suit a 30 – 32 gallon tank and I want to make sure I buy the right one. I am just upgrading from a 10 gallon tank and I had a 10/20 gallon filter I bought from Walmart as well as a sponge bio filter. Probably not the greatest combination so if you could give me any advice that would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.
i always suggest you use a sump system for any size tank but if thats not an option the next best bet is a canister filter. the pros to this would the ability to control water flow better. most hang on back filters suck water from just below where it spits out. so theres not much circulation. with a canister filter you can suck water from one side of the tank and release it back into the tank on the complete opposite side for optimal filtration and water movement.
