good combination of fish to start in a 14 gallon heated tank?
this is not my first fish tank, but it is my first heated tank. what i’m trying to say is, i really would appreciate advice on what combination of fish to start with – not advice on keeping the tank. that i’ve learnt from experience and research (i know that heated tanks require different attention from normal tanks to a degree – that i’ve researched exhaustively). it’s the fish that one keeps in a heated tank, what species to keep with what species and in what amounts that i need help with.
well, since your tank isn’t that big, you’re a bit limited but there are still some choices
here are some ideas for you
SF> schooling fish
BF> Bottom feeder
1 male or female betta
3 platies
6 cardinal tetras (SF)
6 rummynose tetras (SF)
5 cory cats (BF, SF)
or
1 dwarf gourami
3 swordtails
6 rasboras (SF)
6 silver tipped tetras (SF)
5 otocinclus
or
3 mollies
3 platies
3 guppies
6 short finned serpae tetras (SF)
5 kuhli loaches
these would be some nice colorful stocking ideas
neither overstocked nor understocked
